Is it possible for thyroid nodules to shrink without having to take them out surgically?

Almost never: Thyroid nodules either stay stable or grow. They do not shrink. No medicine causes them to shrink either, .

Sometimes: Sometimes thyroid nodules can be suppressed if the patient get put on synthroid (thyroxine). However, any growing nodule needs a biopsy to rule out thyroid cancer.
