Hypothyroidism: You may develop hypothyroidism. This won't kill you, but should be avoided. You should stay on thyroid hormone. Generic T4 is inexpensive.

Yes: Normal metabolic function is controlled for by thyroxin expressed by the thyroid gland. If one has had a partial thyroid resection leaving an entrie rt. lobe, that should be sufficient to handle thyroid needs. To have an additional 25% from the left lobe is more than sufficient.
