Possibly: Lidocaine treats throat pain temporarily and may be safely used long-term, but it is more important to determine the underlying cause of throat pain. Possible causes range from benign (cryptic tonsillitis, allergy and associated postnatal drainage, acid reflux) to more concerning ones, e g cancer. It is important to get this evaluated by an ENT doctor.
