Depends on aim: If the aim is to diagnose alcohol use/abuse the tests include, blood alcohol, urine ethyl glucronide, serum alt and ggt, serum levels of carbohydrate deficienct transferrin. If you wish to assess the damage from alcohol use, liver function tests to assess liver damage, fasting blood glucose to screen for diabetes due to chronic pancreatitis and testosterone levels to assess testicular atrophy.
