Esophagus....: Alcoholics can have bleeding from the esophagus due to abnormal veins, called esophageal varices. These abnormal veins can then bleed, sometimes catastrophically leading to death. When they bleed, it can look like the person is coughing the blood even though it is originating in the GI tract or, they can actually aspirate some of this blood and then cough it up.
