Stress: Pul. Embolism is a kind of obstructing shock. So it decrease blood to of side of heart and that decrease blood pressure sometime. Body defense to this is to increase heart rate. It also increase stress on rt side of heart.

Compensation...: Pulmonary embolism, pe, results in decreased oxygen in your blood. In order to deliver more oxygen to the vital organs, the heart rate increases in an effort to compensate for the low amount of oxygen in the blood.
