Hoping you can tell me, is pulmonary embolism the same thing as a heart attack?

No: Pulmonary embolism is a clot going to the lung from the venous system of the body, usually from a vein of the leg. A heart attack is usually blockage of one of the arteries to the heart muscle, often by a clot in a coronary.
