Those are common: There are many causes of increase risk for a venous thromboembolism, those 2 plus immobility, severe illness, hereditary causes, autoimmune diseases, certain cancers, etc.

Both...: Both can increase the risk of pe. Staying mobile is a way to hopefully prevent pe as much as possible.
