Clot formation : Clot formation inside the diseased lumen is the path to cardiovascular events. Thrombophlebitis is clot inside the veins. Antiplatelets like Aspirin are preventive. Stronger blood thinners are used as therapy. Vein clots and artery clots are more common in smokers.

Not really: While certain blood disorders would increase your risk of developing arterial (lead to angina) and veins clots (thrombophlebitis), the two are not strongly linked.
