A member asked:

If you have an allergy to fish does is increase your chances of having an allergy to shellfish or other seafoods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe a little: From an evolutionary point-of-view fish are closer to us than they are to crustaceans or mollusks. They share few similar proteins and so few similar allergens. Usually allergy to fish doe not mean allergy to shellfish. A few unfortunate people however are allergic to lots of foods. Hope that's not you.
