It depends.: The fees associated with orthognathic surgery depend on a great many factors, most importantly whether or not only one jaw is being moved (upper or lower) or both upper and lower jaws are being moved. Single jaw surgery fees range from $5000-$8000 while double jaw surgery, which is much more complicated, ranges from $10, 000-$20, 000. However, medical insurance usually covers the majority of costs.

Depends: Depending on the type of procedure performed and if both jaws require surgery and if your insurance offers coverage it can range from a couple thousand dollars out of pocket all the way up to 40 thousand between hospital and surgeon fees.

Location?: Varies with extent of surgery. Varies a lot with geographic location. Varies with your insurance plan. Some states mandate insurance coverage. Fees in different parts of country vary also. Some surgeon feel comfortable with outpatient surgery, some inpatient (higher fees).
