Is it normal to have normal glucose levels while having a high hemoglobin a1c level?

It could happen: High A1c means you have a high average bs over the last 2-3 months. If you checked bs at the wrong tme, sometimes you will get a normal bs number. The more bs you check, the less likely you will find a normal bs with a high a1c.

Different: Pretend a glucose level is like taking a snapshot in one point in time. The hemoglobin A1c is like viewing a movie over time. So you could have high glucose over time and have one reading, ie the glucose that is normal.
