Low absolute reticulocyte count. does it mean i have bone marrow or cancer problems?

No: The reticulocyte count is 1 test in evaluation for anemia. A low count does not mean cancer. It may indicate a marrow problem, but may indicate another problem. Please consult with a hematologist if anemia is the problem.

Dad 70 yrs did bone marrow for his anemia. Dr. Said that results show no cancer and no MDS. Just low RBC production in bone marrow. Is it Aplastic?
Can it be too early to detect cancer in bone marrow biopsy? My labs show low RBC HGB 7.1 iron and is normal b12 is high. Had a bone marrow biopsy and chromosome testing done it was negative. No signs of cancer. Could it be too soon to detect cancer?
