Informed consent : Informed consent for elective surgical procedures is the most difficult. It is a risk benefit analysis between the patient and surgeon. The surgical risks should be understood by the patient and family and the surgical risks should be lower than the risk to patient of continuing without surgery. After the surgery, if a complication occurs the surgeon and care team should work hard to resolve it.
