Does electrical muscle stimulation have some bad effects for your heart?

Usually no: Normal therapeutic electrical stimulation of the muscles of the body will stimulate the skeletal muscles only. The heart will be unaffected. A tens unit or similar device will not affect the heart. However, it is possible under extra-ordinary situations to effect the heart with electrical stimulation. People with pacemakers can be affected. Recently, a report that a taser device could affect it.
