A member asked:

Is electronic muscle simulation good or bad for your heart and health? i have hypertension and bought a ems device for abs and arms.can i use without causing damage to myself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

EMS: EMS has not shown to affect blood pressure or heart rate in healthy people, but may harm people with weakness of heart muscle or with history of congestive heart failure. Improper settings may damage muscles. I recommend checking your blood pressure before, during and after use of EMS to determine its effect on your blood pressure.
