Ovarian cancer: Yes. Only 85% of ovarian cancers have an elevated ca 12 at presentation. Therefore, 15 of every 100 women with a diagnosis of ovarian cancer have a ca 125 within the normal range. Ca 125 is not a diagnostic test. But is used to follow the progress of chemotherapy.
