Why is the ca-125 blood test for ovarian cancer not part of a yearly checkup?

Not beneficial: The ca125 test is not used for screening for ovarian cancer because it does not work in the general female population. The ca125 can be abnormal in situations without any cancer and most importantly using this test does not save any lives like in the case of maamograms for breast cancer.
