L-dopa levels: L-dopa comes in short and long acting forms, which last from two to about eight hours. After starting l-dopa therapy, if the doses are taken very regularly, the brain levels will stabilize after four to six weeks, because of the many interacting brain regions that are affected..

Dr. Krishna Kumar answered

Marijuana, Dopamine: Long-term cannabis use tends to produce less dopamine, a neurochemical directly linked to motivation and reward. Using pet brain imaging the researchers have found that Dopamine levels in a part of the brain called the striatum were lowest in people who smoke more cannabis and those who began smoking marijuana at a younger age. Please see your physician about your smoking and its effects.

A member asked:
Are there homeopathic dopamine antagonist?
1 doctor answer • 2 doctors weighed in

Dr. Robert Kwok answered
Pediatrics 33 years experience
No: Truly homeopathic "medications" are made by repeated dilutions, so that the ingredient is not really there anymore (just the "essence" of it remains). That means there is no active ingredient left to antagonize dopamine. However, that also implies that the homeopathic "medicine" should be pretty harmless, unless some other non-homeopathic ingredient (such as some other chemical) was added.
