Benign or PAD: Vascular calcifications may be benign or malignant. The calcifications may be related to peripheral arterial disease. I would suggest a initial diagnostic lower body arteriography. Sometimes vascular calcifications may be related to benign aging process. As we age, our arteries start to stiffin with fibrin and calcium deposits. This may lead to older onset hypertension and erectile dysfunction.
