Additional Test: The test of choice for your wife's symptoms is an ultrasound. This could be gastrointestinal, vascular, or pelvic/gynecological in nature. It is difficult to give you anymore answers without a full workup of symptoms, onset, duration, frequency, what makes it worse or better, etc...

Calcification: Vascular calcification in of itself does not mean anything. These are common in patients > 50 and in patients with hypercholesterolemia. It is more likely to be something in the abdomen or pelvis causing this dicomfort - a general surgeon should be consulted.
