A member asked:

I am a female who has suffered from chronic pelvic and low back pain for approximately 4 months. i had recent xrays which noted scattered vascular calcifications, greater than expected for age. previous xrays showed none. should i be concerned ?

I think so: Yes, you should be evaluated for risk factors for arteriosclerosis such as high LDL cholesterol, high triglycerides, high blood pressure and smoking. You may consider having an EKG and a scan test for presence of coronary artery calcification or a treadmill stress test. Family history of cardiovascular disease may play a role. Your physician or a cardiologist can evaluate you and arrange testing.
