Back pain: This isn't really enough information to be precise, but it sounds like several problems. Acute low back pain with radiation down the legs usually suggests a slipped disc in the lumbar spine. But this would not cause neck pain; that is a separate problem. Getting light-headed can be a symptom of just severe pain, but otherwise there is no connection between slipped disc and being light-headed.

Spinal stenosis: this sounds like spinal stenosis. He should definitely see a spine specialist for examination and possible x-rays, MRI
