A 37-year-old male asked:
My wife had a neck adjustment at a chiropractor for the first time today. she is now experiencing a tingling/numbness around her head. started at the back of the neck, moved slightly up, and has moved around to her cheek. is this common?

Would hope not: A chiropractor is not a medical doctor. It is better to see a physiatrist (also known as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation doctor) or see an Orthopedic Spine doctor. Always have a primary care doctor to check for general problems, and he or she can refer to the other specialists. After seeing the doctors, Physical Therapy can offer some help. For new worrisome nerve symptoms, may need the ER.
