Wash eye.: It is not irritating and all ointments are basically medicine mixed in a base similar to aquaphor.

Eye issue: Your child may get a little redness and irritation but it should not cause significant problems. Just flush out the eye with lots of artificial tears. If it worsens or does not resolve, see an eye doctor.
