Intense itching: Some systemic causes that can cause intense itching of the skin even without a skin rash includes :kidney failure, liver disease, iron deficiency anemia, certain types of cancer, although it is not skin cancer, hiv/aids, stroke, thyroid disease, infections-bacterial and parasitic, medications, hormonal abnormalities, psychogenic causes, scabies, allergies. See your doctor for a workup.
