A member asked:

Can functional magnetic stimulation (fms) help treat paraplegia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Fms helps preserve muscle bulk in paralyzed muscles. It helps with circulation and joint health. It is not a cure for paraplegia but it is helpful to keep these muscles in good shape for the day (hopefully in the not too distant future) when we have a treatment to cure paralysis. The drawbacks are that is takes time, can tend to be expensive. But if the resources are available, i recommend it.
