A member asked:

Can insurance plans still limit coverage for a pre-existing condition or is that now illegal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Eventually: Currently the coverage depends upon the policies in place at each job. Some policies deny coverage altogether for pre-existing conditions; others have a waiting period. When the federal aca act is fully in force in 2014 this will no longer be allowed and coverage is mandatory.
