Basically, dental plans cover teeth and gums. Medical plans will cover fractures to the jaw or cancers of the jaw or infections in the jaw or mouth in addition to all other medical issues... but does not cover teeth or gums...

Discount Dental Plan: You'll have to find an office that participates in BOTH programs. Discount dental plans cover less than PPO plans, so most likely you will still be paying out of pocket for your treatment.

Yes but...: First the office you go to would have to accept both plans. It also depends upon whether or not they are both for you, or you as a secondary on your spouse's plan. Furthermore, some insurance plans reduce the coverage by the amount another plan pays. You need to discuss this with both insurance plans and the office. I hope you seek quality dental care and not just consider out of pocket costs.

Definitely, yes: If you're looking for a cost effective alternatives to traditional indemnity dental plan then dental discount plan is the best value available for individual or family plans. The PPO plans are ideal if coupled with a Discount Plan to allow greater savings and choice. Ask your dentist's insurance coordinator for more information. Hope it helps.
