Hormones: Giving Progesterone at a dose of 100-200 mg during the second half of the cycle seems to help. We also use fluoxetine 20mg once a day for the week prior to menstrual bleeding.

Options: Dr treacy provided good information. You can talk with your physician about options like omega 3 fatty acids and magnesium supplementation. Avoid excessive sugar and low quality carbohydrate intake. Don’t add extra salt to your food and avoid processed foods containing extra salt. Reduce caffeine and alcohol use. Stay physically active.
