Gestational diabetes: If you have gestational diabetes, the high glucose levels in your blood makes the unborn baby respond by increasing his own Insulin in order to keep the glucose at bay. Once the baby is born, and he is not in that "high sugar" environment, his insulin, being high before birth may make his own glucose drop. Nurseries are well equiped to deal with this.
