Is caregiver stress real?

11 doctors weighed in across 3 answers

YES: Please pay attention to the sense of decreasing care you are getting, the increasing difficulty, frustration, even that sense of ''too much''. This is a loving, giving thing; however, at some point all of us will need some help. Friends, relatives, societies about the difficulty. You will not be able to do what you set out to. Help does help.

Caregiver Stress: Absolutely, it is quite demanding to be a caregiver and can result in illness if your lifestyle does not allow you to return to the role refreshed. Best.

Very much so: Caregiver stress can present as physical or emotional exhaustion, not having enough time to take care of your own needs or responsibilities, feelings of resentment, problems with sleep, trouble relaxing, irritability, poor concentration & feeling like your entire life revolves around the person you are caring for.
