How are allergies related to autoimmune disorders?

Antibodies in both.: The easiest way to look at it is that if someone has allergies, his/her body makes antibodies against things he/she is exposed to (meds, foods, pollen, animals, etc.), while in autoimmune disorders, the body makes antibodies against one or more of its own tissues.

Allergies: Allergy is a form of an immune disorder. It is not an autoimmune disorder. . It is a form of hypersensitivity to common harmless allergens. It is mediated by ige which upon exposure to allergen activates basophils and mast cells to release inflammatory mediators such as histamine, leucotrienes and certain interleukins . These produce allergy symptoms .Commomn allergies are hives, hay fever asthm.
