Is it truly easier to take a full, deep breath of "fresh air" at high alt. compared to sea level?

NO.: You will be able to take a deep breath about the same volume (vital capacity) at sea level or at high altitudes. However the oxygen content is lower at high altitudes, so you will actually be inhaling a lower o2 percentage. It may feel better, because it is cool and your looking at a beautiful, awe inspiring scene.
