A member asked:

Could only asthma alone, cause a person not to be able to take deep breaths ? and that cause low oxygen levels ? thank you

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: During an asthma event people use additional muscles/effort to breathe because there is airway restriction to air entry. It might prevent deeper breaths since their is less volume available during the event. If the lungs will not inflate as much you would not gain as much surface for oxygen to enter the blood.
