Yes: Vitamin B12 is a special situation. Unless you have malabsorpton of foods in general, you should absorb other vitamins normally.

Yes, however...: The mechanism via which we absorb B12 is complex. Many can't absorb it. This is unrelated to your ability to absorb other vitamins, though one cause, low stomach acid, can also make it hard to absorb minerals. Here is an essay I have written that includes information on why Centrum leaves much to be desired. I believe everyone should take a quality multivitamin but some are MUCH better than others and http://www.multivitaminguide.org/ has objective rankings of 101 brands. Any in the top 35 or so are great choices.
