Rota: make sure to keep him hydrated with water and pedialyte. No juice for 24 hour. Monitor how many urine diapers he is having.

How old is your son?: Rotavirus can be a serious illness for young infants, because of dehydration. Was he not vaccinated?Has he seen his pediatrician? There is no actual treatment for the virus. So in general,if he is vomiting, you need to give him small sips of fluids(the type depends on his age)& watch his urine output. For the diarrhea,if he is on solids, continue them.Talk to his doctor for futher advice.

Rotavirus: Rotavirus infection is best treated through hydration. Children can drink oral rehydration solution & water. Babies that are breastfed should continue to be breastfed. If fluid losses are excesses, than intravenous hydration may be needed.
