It is a live virus: vaccine. However, if your immune system is normal and you wash your hands after changing his diaper, you should not be at risk for getting the virus from changing his diaper. You also may be immune, since many adults/older adolescents have had the actual Rotavirus illness and have become immune naturally (although that immunity doesn't always occur or last). Bottom line: Wash your hands!

Rotated: as long as you do not have immunodeficiency or malignancy ie cancer the risk is very low for you after one dose only 32/360 cases tested positive for the virus in the stool that lowers down to 1 in 385 after the third dose this information is from the manufacturer

Yes and Not Likely: Rotavirus vaccine is live, but the risk of getting virus transmitted and active disease from your son's stool is minimal. In theory, since this is a live vaccine, it is possible, but not reported. As always, good hand washing is a must! Congrats on vaccinating your baby!
