No: But you can make sure the cancer patient has an advocate to intervene. You can tell them to put their concerns and wishes in writing and have an independent third party read what they have written and make decisions that they will accept. In all things put the best interest of the patient ahead of any other interests. If the patient is in the hospital, enlist the support of the hospital staff.
