Not clear...: Sorry but the structure of your questions left me wondering which meds left your thinking 'coudy'. Generally, bipolar patients are not left on an antidepressant very long due to the risk of triggering a manic episode. Topomax has been noted to help with weight loss but not so great at stabilizing mood in bipolar 'swinging'. May read up on Depakote or Lamictal as alternatives & discuss with your dr.

Need other mood stab: Since topamax cause you to think not straight need other mood stabilizer that also control anxiety. An antianxiety medication like xanax in small doses or use other mood stabilizers like seroquel, Abilify (aripiprazole) or zyprexa. Also you can use depakote, Trileptal or lithium if you are accurately diagnosed as bipolar and if there is no risk of possible pregnancy complication.
