Inhaler or not?: It is usually not dangerous for an otherwise healthy individual to use an albuterol inhaler if the person is having difficulty breathing or wheezing. Albuterol is usually taken every 4-6 hours as needed for cough or wheeze. If you feel jittery or that your heart is racing after using albuterol, you should contact your physician immediately.
