Mild asthma symtoms. symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) given as only treatment and only to be used as rescue inhaler. strange? ps. i live in europe.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) PRN: Symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) is prescribed as a rescue inhaler in europe. The long acting bronchodilator formoterol starts working very quickly. The Budesonide decreases inflammation. If you need to use this more than 2x/week, are waking up 2x/month from asthma , or have frequent exacerbations then you need a daily medication for your asthma.
