A member asked:

If i'm showing signs and symptoms of hiv, even if its before the window period is up, will i be able to test positive?

Depends: It is very unlikely that your symptoms are due to HIV, if you are in the window period. By definition, antibody tests are negative in the window period. If you get a HIV nucleic acid test, that is the earliest test to turn positive in a person with HIV. But a negative result on a test done too soon does not rule out infection.
