A member asked:

I got treated a few weeks ago with metronizadole for bacteria in my vagina, but not bacteria vaginosis. i feel that it coming back but i'm not sure.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Vaginitis: Many bacteria are not totally destroyed by a given antibiotic. Doing a wet smear for protozoa infections, plus a culture and sensitivity of the vaginal secretions will provide definitive guidance for therapy. If these were not done, the antibiotic may not be successful in the treatment, so the infection can re-establish itself. Get a culture by your healthcare provider and a wet smear.
