Vaginitis: Many bacteria are not totally destroyed by a given antibiotic. Doing a wet smear for protozoa infections, plus a culture and sensitivity of the vaginal secretions will provide definitive guidance for therapy. If these were not done, the antibiotic may not be successful in the treatment, so the infection can re-establish itself. Get a culture by your healthcare provider and a wet smear.
