Go to ER immediately: Pain in the jaw, especially on the left side can sometimes be related to an impending cardiac event like a heart attack. This alone is reason to act quickly and get seen by a Doctor today.

Jaw pain: Without a clinical exam and more information, a diagnosis cannot be accurate. However, it sounds like you are having TMJ pain. This is usually caused by bruxism (chronic teeth grinding and/or clenching), or a bad bite. See your dentist for an exam and diagnosis. In many cases a night guard can help, but you must be aware if the bruxism is also happening during the day.

TMJ syndrome: This sounds like TMJ syndrome, a condition in which the joint connecting the upper & lower jaw gets inflamed. Unless you've become habituated to it, "oxy" should have helped. OTC's like naproxen and Ibuprofen taken an hour before bed should help. Ice may help but don't apply it directly to the skin or for too long. Eat soft foods for now and make appt. w/ your dentist for further evaluation.

Call 911: The pain in the left side of the jaw, tightness, pain or pressure in your chest and shortness of breath is always a red flag. Visit to the ER is warranted. Do not drive, Call 911. If CVD ruled out see your dentist for TMJ evaluation.
