How high?: It is not so much taking but not taking some things. Reduce intake of saturated fats, if you are even slightly overweight, reduce weight through diet and exercise. Exercise regularly for at least 150 minutes/week. Check the value after 6 months of following this regimen.

Options.: Red yeast rice is a naturally occurring statin which has a similar mechanism to actual prescription medications but which occurs naturally. As well, look into Niacin supplementation and, of course, fish oils. A high fiber diet will help lower cholesterol as well. Don't underestimate the power of a healthful meal and exercise plan.
