A member asked:

My doc wants to put me on meds for high cholesterol , he said its hereditary, im on niacin since april (2000mg) is there a natural supplement ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Niacin is insufficient to reduce cholesterol. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. There are no effective "natural" supplements to reduce cholesterol. You need to lose weight, avoid saturated fats, exercise and take the medication prescribed by your doctor. Wish you good health!
