Not necessarily: Many people have disc bulges and have no pain from this. It just means that your pain is not coming from the disc bulge but from some other problem with the musculoskeletal system in your right back.

Yes: The nerves of your spine go to each side, separately. The symptoms, if they are caused by the bulging disk, should be on the same side as the bulge. However many people have bulging disks without having problems with them. There can be other causes of your pain. See your doctor.

Disc bulge & symptom: Yes, this is unusual. If the bulge is on one side, most of the time, it would cause symptoms on that side, if it affects a nerve root. What are the symptoms? A disc bulge is not necessarily the cause of symptoms, unless it impinges on a nerve root. Sometimes it is not the disc but the nucleus pulposis or disc jelly material that causes the problem.
