A member asked:

I was cured of af. by two ablations. the only risk factor is i am 71 year old male. what is the prognosis for a return of af?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

AF: You don't say how long since the ablations you have been free of afib. If you have been free for 2 years or so, then there's a good chance it won't come back. If the time is less than 2 years, then it is more difficult to predict. The anatomy and physiology of your heart would help predict but you provide no more information. Ask your EP doc for the knowledgable prediction.
