Depends: What test are scheduled? Lipid studies may be affected. If you are back to you your usual routine about a week before the tests, it should be okay. If you are required to fast before the tests, make sure you fast at least 9 hours. You may drink water. If you take any medications, check with your doctor if s/he wishes you to skip medications that morning.

Hi! When I go for a fasting blood test to check glucose and cholesterol, if I use toothpaste and/or mouthwash before the fasting blood test, could the chemicals in the toothpaste and/or mouthwash affect the test results? Should I wait till after test?
